| The Cardiac Safe Community Program has placed almost 190 defibrillators in more than 130 locations across Durham Region. In each of these
sites the program has trained Targeted Responders. These individuals
will respond to all emergencies in their facilities.
The defibrillators in these facilities are also available
for use by the general public. This is the true definition
of Public Access Defibrillation. Any member of the public
is capable of using one of these units, they are automated
and after simply turning the unit on anyone can follow the
instructions (prompts) of the unit and carry out a rescue.
Take some time to open the documents below and see for yourself
how easy it is to operate these units. One of the links below
takes you to a short video that takes you step by step through
a simulated rescue. Check it out.
